With 2012 now here, I’ve been thinking a lot about my hopes for 2012. This year, life doesn’t just involve me and what I want and hope for. It now includes Roman, and I love it. Over the past few days, I’ve taken a look back at some of my past resolutions posts. Some of those things are depressing because I didn’t accomplish them, yet some are fulfilling to read because I did.
{The above photo was from our wedding photo booth. I think it is hilarious, so I’m posting it here to ring in the new year. It was our one attempt at the photo booth during the reception. The other guests definitely made up for it and the photo booth was a huge hit!}
This year, I don’t want to look back with any regrets. I want my resolutions to be real, tangible goals that will better both mine and Roman’s lives. I want 2012 to be our best year yet. So, here are my resolutions:
1) Keep up with my blog. This truly is my journal of life, and this year is going to be one I never want to forget as we journey through newlywed life. I toyed with the idea of giving it up during the wedding planning process, but over my vacation I’ve been re-reading some past posts and am so glad that I have this document of my life.
2) Be the best wife that I can be every day. I’m not naive. I know there will be struggles. I know there will be disagreements, bad days and probably even some fights. But, in 2012, I hope to be the best wife that I can be for my husband. I hope that he never doubts how much I love him and care for him and our life together.
3) Continue my journey back to my faith. At the beginning of December, Roman and I started going to a new church that we are both very excited about. Although we have only been a handful of times, we have both looked forward to going each week and are hoping to get more involved this year. For Christmas Roman totally surprised me and got me a beautiful Bible monogrammed with my new name, and I seriously broke down in tears. It was the perfect gift for where we’re at right now. I’m so excited for our journey in faith together.
4) Live a healthier life. I’m not getting too specific here, but I have some things I would like to accomplish. One thing that I do miss is running. It was a huge part of my life for 2 years, and last year I really fell off the wagon. Although I still ran pretty consistently, I only did ONE 5K during the entire year. I miss running and participating in races, so that is one thing that I will specify for this particular resolution.
5) Live a smarter financial life. Roman and I have financial goals that we are hoping to accomplish in 2012. It is going to take some serious work and dedication on both of our parts, but I know we are both committed to making this happen.
Cheers to 2012!

A healthier and more financially savvy life are on my list as well! Good luck keeping yours up and going...I'm just positive that 2012 is going to be an amazing year!
